FINALLY.
I had my first attack summer of '10 when I was at work. FHM ([link]) usually manifests itself with loss of eyesight, numbness/paralyzing of either side of the body, nausea, intense headache, panic attack and coma.
At first they thought I was having a stroke, with the right side of my face hanging, right hand not working and couldn't see anything or say anything.
They ambulance'd me to the hospital, and after seven long hours from the first symptoms the team of doctors concluded I had my first FHM episode.
Side Note: 4 different kind of scans (which I am too uneducated to name except for the obvious CT and MRI), two ambulance rides, a bed for a day and a night, and a whole team of doctors will cost you 12,90 € in Finland.
I wasn't really given much information during my first visit,- nobody really seemed to know much of it, after all there are only about 100-200 cases in Finland. (I still don't know much about it.)
This, of course, makes me totally special and I should get tons of messages saying how brave I am and how cool but tragic it is to be me.
I am such a tough nut for handling this scary RARE disease with such grace and bravery,- even if it does bother me only about every other year.
FHM cannot be diagnosed without having at least two attacks, so I had to wait till today to get proper treatment.
And THIS can only mean one thing...
It's time to get me some Vicodin and cosplay Dr. House!
I'll get a life-long ban on what will be my first and last con once they realize I'm not just pretending to be high.
